Climate ChangeClimate Change 0/5
“It appears that the highly contentious view that climate change will kill us all is beginning to unravel. It’s well known that statistics can be used in virtually any way you want and there’s been a suspicion that scientists have been, shall we say, generous with their facts to suit the climate change alarm… We’d all like to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, but until there’s a workable and practical alternative we have no choice but to continue with them.” – Candidate’s website

Climate ChangeLGBT Rights 0/5
Agrees with the Pope’s views on equality.

“Thank God someone has the spine to stand up to all these equality zealots in this country. Benedict XVI claims that Labour’s equality measures will seriously affect people’s faith and beliefs and ‘violates natural law’. I agree.” – Candidate’s website
Climate ChangeInheritance Tax 0/5
In favour of raising the threshold to £1 million. – Candidate’s website

Climate ChangeHunting Ban 0/5
“I love all sport and there are only a few I don’t play. And I support hunting.” – Link

Climate ChangePublic Services 0/5
On Dan Hannan’s comments about the NHS, that it is a disgrace and should be replaced.

““Daniel’s the fella who was vilified in the press for daring to speak his mind on the NHS and mentioning Enoch Powell (oops, that’s my career over!) But…you are left wandering what all the fuss is about”. – Candidate’s website

Climate ChangeImmigration 1/5
“We learn today that our population has risen to over sixty one million (Source: Office for National Statistics). The biggest explosion in births is from immigrant mothers. Our poor, over-burdened island is already full. You have to look no further than our congested and deteriorating roads and the urgent need for millions more homes to know that. Labour’s immigration minister Phil Woolas remains complacent and uninterested in the respected claim that our population will rise above 70 million in the next twenty five years. Consequently, our borders remain insufficiently protected and our infrastructure increasingly threatened. Controlled immigration must be a top priority for us if we win the general election. Sticking our heads in the sand is no longer an option.” – Candidate’s website

Climate ChangeMarriage 2/5
“What is a major problem is the growing army of young single mums… Ultimately, the benefit of marriage must also be explained to youngsters, as there’s no doubt in my mind marriage is the best environment for children.” – Candidate’s website

Climate ChangeHouse of Lords Reform 0/5
“In my view the House of Lords should never have been touched. It’s hard to defend its hereditary principle, but it’s worked for hundreds of years, curbing extremes from both sides of the House. And if something works well, don’t try and fix it.” – Candidate’s website

“We should seek to enhance the Lords, not destroy it,” said Leonard Allen, from Norfolk, in today’s Letter to the Editor in the Sunday Telegraph. My thoughts exactly, and I have said so publicly on many occasions. Labour has tinkered with our constitution to the detriment of us all. Now they are suggesting an elected second chamber along the lines of the American Senate. No thank you.” – Candidate’s website

  1. Quote taken direct from the candidates web site.

I am an employer and, like millions of others, are already over burdened with bureaucracy, taxation, health and safety and employees’ rights.
He clearly doesn’t give a toss about rights or health and safety of his employees.

I have been told that he asks all applicants for jobs on his estate to send a photo with their application form. Why is this I wonder!!

  2. Poor (or not so poor) Richard Dax is a nice bloke in that Tory Rich persons way. But has he any idea of how the rest of us live in the real world? He has no real idea about Portland or the struggle we have, or our Area of South Dorset. He reminds me of Harry Enfields “Tim nice but dim”. Come out of your ivory Tower Richard and smell the real world. I don’t want to go back to the old days of no mimume wage, no child tax fund, having to pay for a dr when I need one. Decent family allowance, pensioners heating allowance, without the national health service my dear sister who died of cancer would have been dead years before she did and we would have been bankrupt if we had to pay for her treatment. There is no “Briken Britian” just a little down, but who else but Gordon would have brought us out of a World ression?

  3. Gordon Brown didn’t bring us out of a recession. We’re in the worst financial state of any country in the G20 that has any geopolitical bearing on us, he sticks to a dreadful keynesian ideology that spending in a public sector that already consumes 63.7% of our GDP. I can’t believe that some people are so blinded by anti-elitist sentiment that they will allow this country to become some third rate outpost of Belgium. I for one am voting tory, voting for change, voting for a man like Richard (Who i am guessing Ms. Sandra West is a lot smarter than you – seeing as how he is not only a successful businessman, journalist, war correspondant and officer in her majesties armed forces, he is also a fantastically pleasant man who is imbued by his undoubtably favoured birth with a sense of duty to his fellow man, something that the elcted officials in this parliament seem to be shamefully lacking in). So grow up and vote for change before it is too late!

    • Gordon Brown’s positive response to the global financial crisis was hailed word-wide. If he had followed Cameron and Osborne’s advice at the time it’s widely acknowledged that we’d be in recession right now, with 1,000,000-plus more people unemployed. As for Drax being “imbued by his undoubtably [sic] favoured birth with a sense of duty to his fellow man”…that statement is simply laughable. He clearly has no sense of duty to immigrants to this country that our economy depends upon, or to single-parent families. This man’s views are an affront to anybody with an ounce of compassion in their soul.

      • It would appear that i have been vindicated – Richard Drax, majority 7000. Wow, what a man!
We already have 1000,000 + unemployed, that’s only going to change when the private sector takes the slack of the grossly oversized public sector. With any luck we’re going to have a productive economy again very soon.

Bring on the tory/libdem ubergovernment! And with any luck Labour will implode taking hattie harman and ed balls with it. Weirdly the only labourite i wish vaguely well is Gordon himself. Its frankly the best thing for him

        الله يحبني وليس لك
